Pita Pizza

First tabouli pizza, now pita pizza. How much more middle eastern can we get? We promise you dear readers that Natalie and I are not terrorists, just pizza terrorists (Zing!). When you want pizza in a pinch or you're too lazy to make a real one, this is the best option. Slices of bread just doesn't cut it, get some pita bread.

Ingredients:
  • pita bread
  • cheese: monterey jack, mild cheddar, and provolone
  • tomato sauce
  • toppings of your choice (we used spinach)

To the left we have my (Michelle) pizza with monterey jack and provolone cheese with spinach, and to the right we have Natalie's pizza with monterey jack and mild cheddar cheese with lots of garlic salt (which started out as an accident on Natalie's part, but ended up being delicious). The sauce we used was plain, so just add whatever spices you want. We used salt, pepper, basil, and garlic salt.

We put our pita pizzas in a toaster oven and pressed "toast," heard a "ding!" and they were done! If you don't have a toaster oven, well then I guess you're shit outta luck! No, I'm kidding. Just use your oven or something (duh).

Take your pizzas out when they look like this (5-10 minutes)! The pita bread becomes crunchy and then you have warm, gooey, soft cheese to contrast. It goes so well together. They both came out equally amazing. Quick, easy, and tastes like pizza.

Photo Credit of course goes to Natalie!
