White Pizza

Pizza? Without sauce? Yeah, that's what white pizza is. I never thought that pizza could taste so good without it. This turned out pretty amazing.

Just two ingredients: 1. dough 2. cheese: monterey jack, mild cheddar, uhh and that other cheese in the photo. That's it!

No sauce! Just add the cheese! We also added a bit of seasoning to the pizza (salt, pepper, basil, whatever). We used a new dough this time. Pillsbury pizza crust "classic." Very yummy,  it tasted more pizza like than the previous one we were using, we just might use this for our dough from now on.

Natalie and I got a little too excited and forgot to take a picture of the pizza before we put it into the oven!

And of course throw it in the oven and take out when the cheese bubbles and browns. This one didn't take long at all.

Oh my, look how sexy this white pizza is.

  5. I found a recipe for quick pizza dough that my family loves. It only takes about 20 minutes. I always thought that white pizza was made with Alfredo sauce?

  6. Yeah an actual white pizza should have garlic, preferably fresh garlic. The place I used to get it, it was fresh garlic, then Mozzarella, and Ricotta on top

  7. Try this - make a pizza putting the chees on FIRST - then put the sauce on LAST. It may not sound good, but trust me, it is yummy!:)

  8. I let a couple of tablespoons of olive oil sit with 2 cloves of pressed garlic, freshly ground pepper, & snipped fresh sweet basil. Brush the oil on to the entire crust before cheese. YUMO! I love using my garlic press & stone from Pampered chef - super easy, super fast.

  15. Yum! I love pizza that way. I am a fan of pizza sauce, but most delivery kind comes with way too much sauce. I ask for mine with sauce in a cup on the side and either dip it or eat it with just the cheesy goodness. Have you tried putting a little ranch dressing under the cheese? SO GOOD!

  16. I'm not sure where you got your info for White Pizza, but this is cheese bread, White Pizza has a white sauce on it, either Alfredo or a ricotta cheese based sauce. This isnt even close to White Pizza.

@Anonymous Oh yeah! You know what we're about! We always have a side of ranch and chalula with every pizza we eat. This one is particularly superior with ranch.

@Anonymous There lots of different variations of white pizza, we just went with the simplest one. An Alfredo sauce pizza IS on our list though (I think)!

@Anonymous Our previous post is just a garlic and cheese pizza, but with the sauce, so not really "white" pizza. I want to try it without the sauce now! I can only imagine how much more garlicy it would be. Mmmmm...

    "WHAT IS THE "OTHER CHEESE"?"

@Anonymous lol omg, I have NO idea. It's all in spanish and to be honest, it's not very tasty, very bland. So, we barely sprinkled some on the top. Don't get it. We were experimenting and that cheese is now a "No" on our list.

@AnonymousFrom my understanding white pizza is just cheese without red sauce, and having a "white" sauce like Alfredo is optional. I don't like your attitude snooty pants!

@Jennifer You know, Natalie wants to try a "ranch" pizza with ranch dressing as the sauce, but I'm apprehensive about it. But, I'll probably give in and we'll make it!

@PBL Go for it! Natalie and I are very casual with our pizza, we don't get too specific with ingredients or preparation because we want people to just have fun making pizza, not stress about making it "perfect."
